Journal Focus

The Nsukka Journal of the Humanities (NJH) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, and international journal that publishes research articles across all diverse academic disciplines in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The Nsukka Journal of the Humanities, though focuses on advancing arts, humanities and social sciences knowledge in a broad sense, provides publication space for new perspectives, concerning topics, methods, theories and concepts that incorporate knowledge of technology, natural science, law and behavioural science. The journal’s interdisciplinary approaches bridge diverse communities of the arts, humanities and social sciences in different countries and regions in the world; however, it promotes the intellectual development of Africa and Africans in the diaspora. The journal, therefore, encourages and promotes original, theoretical, and empirical research into new areas, new issues, new findings and new subject matters on Chinua Achebe’s works and other African and non-African literal works, the old and new Nsukka Art School (especially, the uli tradition), digital media, and historical and archaeological findings in Africa.

NJH welcomes and publishes research articles, working with both qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods and encourages the development and use of new methods and techniques, original and high-quality empirical and conceptual works, reviews, poems, oral traditions, and short articles, in the form of commentaries, opinion pieces and debates. It also welcomes proposals for special issues. The journal also publishes book reviews, videos, and expert commentaries on important current public and private issues. All contributors should note that the journal does not accept or publish manuscripts based on sophisticated mathematical or statistical formulae or models. Nsukka Journal of the Humanities was founded in 1987 to give equal opportunities to diverse groups of people and their perspectives in the best academic tradition towards the propagation of knowledge.
